Leatherhead Running Day

Part 8: 470: Leatherhead to West Croydon: RML2330

Buses departed, including RT604 on the return 408 to West Croydon. It was packed. Once it had gone Claire wound up the 470 and Croydon blinds on RML2330, and about ten minutes later we too set off. RF679 pulled out ahead of us, but soon disappeared in the direction of the M25 (I presume). We headed for Epsom. The chestnut trees seemed to have deepened in colour during the day.

We met OmniCity 562 on the 293 at the White Horse, and rumbled on through Epsom. On the way through Ewell we caught sight of RT604 ahead, and met OmniCity 566 on the westbound X26.

We caught up with RT604 when it was caught by traffic lights approaching Sutton, ans slipped past when it stopped to set down in Sutton.

We continued eastwards, past tranquil Carshalton Ponds. I can never navigate a way into West Croydon through Waddon, and neither could the crew. We found our own way into Central Croydon, and Clauire stopped at the familar X26 stop to set me down. It had been an excellent day.
