We eased down towards Horns Mill, then turned off away south up a side valley away from the River Lea. The GS followed the Regal up into the woods and through Brickendon to Bayford. There the T turned the corner by the Bakers Arms and pulled up. GS62 pulled past to the bus stop, and we all stopped for photographs.
When we moved off again, GS62 was in the lead. T792 followed us along the leafy lane to Epping Green, where we turned right to head into pretty Little Berkhamsted. We passed the Five Horseshoes and continued to the top of the village. A little way right from the T-junction was the old terminus - a reverse turn round by a brick wall into a side-turning. I watched the traffic while first the GS and then the Regal turned. I then had a walk back to the Five Horseshoes.
We set off back towards Epping Green, with GS62 again leading. We turned the corner towards Bayford. There we turned right for Brickendon, where we stopped outside the Farmers Boy for more pictures.
We rolled back down the long descent to Horns Mill, and climbed up past County Hall before dropping back down into Hertford. We were followed in by RT3148 on the 341 duty that I had originally planned to do. RF633, resting on the other side of the bus station after travails on the 350 was a reminder of yet another trip that would have to wait for another year.
There wasn't time now for me to do another round trip before my last bus - the 384 to Stevenage - so I headed for another cup of tea and a toasted teacake, and settled down to watch the departures...
