Green Line RF28 came purring out of Leyton Garage onto the stand, wearing specially made blinds for today's short-workings on the 720. The Green Line vehicle has recently changed hands in preservation, and I think this was its first public outing with Phil Willson and company.
I went to board the Green Line coach as RF319 pulled up behind, taking its turn on the 236.
RF28, as would be expected, took the direct route towards Stratford, down Leyton High Road. This eventually peters out, and the RF took the left turn to work its way round to Maryland. We ran down into Stratford, and made a stop. Then it was on towards the River Lea, and up over the flyover into Bromley-by-Bow. A left turn took us down the narrow street to The Seven Stars, the short-working terminus.
The run had taken rather less than the half-hour allowed in the timetable. It had been quick and smooth, as a Green Line journey should be. Now we had a few minutes to wait for our connection with RF486 on the 236...
