Further down in the bus station lurked RF495, masquerading as green RF592, and visiting for the day. AEC Reliance RP21, which had earlier come down as a 704 from New Cross, was now on a short-working of the same GreenLine route between Green Street Green and Tonbridge.
At the top of the bus station stood Maidstone and District Titan DH397, on which I hoped to travel next. Camden Coaches' 1963 AEC Reliance 590 with Harrington Grenadier, SAF900, came into the bus station past it to load up for a trip on the old West Kent Motors route to Plaxtol (M&D route 68). Further down the bus station stood RF633, resting between turns onn the 413 group of routes.
RT604 was preparing for another short working on the 403 to Westerham, while RT3148 was taking a break after doing the same.
It definitely seemed to be Country Bus lunch-time, AS XF3 was parked just down the hill. This shaped bus was familar in Sevenoaks, but mostly in the Maidstone & District Atlantean form. A pity that we didn't have one of those here today too.
Talking of lunch-time, I was hungry. So I went to visit the mobile canteen before heading back up through the bus station towards DH379.
